About Xcel Learning

The digital age has introduced new technology which has become integral to both industries, and the people they employ. However, some new technology may slowly be negatively affecting potential new employees. One of these new technologies is AI or artificial intelligence. Specifically, optimised language models. This form of AI essentially works as a chatbot that allows people to ask it questions and get instant answers.

For those studying to gain skills for a potential career, this can be detrimental as it allows them to often skip the research and learning phase, skipping straight to the answers. While this may help them qualify in their studies, it does not necessarily mean they will have job-ready skills. In a sense, the student may have gained a somewhat plagiarised qualification.

Xcel learning will aim to connect students with mentors or teachers within various industries that will give them real-time feedback and gain real skills that will help them become job ready. They will ultimately end up with both a qualification and job-ready skills so they can gain employment within their given industry. Students will have the opportunity to work at their own pace, reducing deadline pressure and the temptation to use AI to get answers for their studies. Additionally, connecting students with a mentor is designed to encourage them to interact with their mentor knowing that in the end, their studies will have a real, tangible payoff.

In the past, the traditional education model has worked and would have been enough, but with the rise of AI and its abilities, new approaches are needed to help combat its potential downsides, allowing education institutions, students, and industries to benefit.
